The posters were seen in strategic locations in Umuahia, Enugu, Awka, Owerri and Abakaliki, all in the eastern region.
Ahead of the presidential elections of 2023, Orji Uzor Kalu’s election posters circulated in the southern part of the country.
Kalu is a former governor of the state of Abia and the current head of the Senate.
The posters have been spotted in strategic locations in Umuahia, Enugu, Awka, Owerri and Abakaliki, all in the eastern region.
Speaking to reporters in Umuahia on Monday, the national president of the Southeast Arewa Community Association, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru, said the group was behind the printing and pasting of posters.
The group has expressed its readiness to see Orji Kalu emerge as the flagship of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election.
He said the North, West, and South-South have all ruled the nation as executive president, saying it’s time to support an Igbo presidency.
Umaru said it was important to support the Igbo presidency to deal with the turmoil of secession in the southeast.
He said the group is an apolitical organization, made up of members from all the northern states living in the geopolitical zone of the southeast.
