The late Justine Patrick of the Berom tribe and two other young men were reportedly ambushed by the attackers as they were returning from a farm on Wednesday evening October 14 in the village of Chaha, Wom District, Jos South Local Government District. state.
While the two others, identified as Daniel Gyang and Sele Dung, miraculously escaped, the gunmen took possession of Patrick and shot him to death with machetes and knives.
In an interview on Friday, October 16, with the Nigeria Crisis Victims Liberation Center (ECCVN), 20-year-old Gyang described how they managed to avoid death.
“We returned from the farm at about 17:30. We never knew that a group of 7 Fulani had already ambushed us. I was on the front line, followed by Mr. Sele and the deceased, respectively, ”he said.
“Attackers in long robes emerged from the surrounding corn farms, holding sticks, matches and knives. They grabbed Justine and started stabbing him when the two of us followed close behind and miraculously escaped. We started screaming and people who were relatively close rushed to help us. “
The deceased was buried on Thursday, October 15, in the village of Chakha, Vomsky district.
