26 Nigerians arrested in Ghana for alleged cybercrime

Ghanaian police reportedly arrested 26 Nigerians allegedly involved in internet fraud.

Okay FM’s Jacob Kubi reported that Deputy Police Commander Amaning Oduro said he broke into three homes and arrested 26 Nigerians, two of them female, following intelligence received. Police said they recovered 31 laptops, 26 cell phones, five machetes and substances suspected of being Indian hemp from the suspects. Suspects should be screened and those found guilty will be tried in court.


Central East Police Commander DCOP Okyere Boapeah added that Kasoa is gaining notoriety due to the activities of some Nigerians. DCOP Boapeah also said Ghanaian landlords shouldn’t hesitate to report would-be Nigerian tenants to immigration officials before renting to them.
