A man was arrested in Bauchi state for allegedly killing four children for money rituals.
The 28-year-old man named Rufai Yunusa is a herbalist. He was arrested by the Ninga local government police in Bauchi State.
He is said to have killed children between the ages of two and four.
Ahmed Vakil, a public relations officer for the state police who is also a police superintendent, confirmed the story, revealing it in a statement on Sunday.
He said they arrested Yunus after Isaku Ahmed of Kafin Madaki filed a complaint in which he claimed that the suspect would cheat on his daughter, who was suffering from a disorder requiring spiritual intervention.
According to a police spokesman, Inusa killed the child after her father released her for medical treatment.
He said: “The Bauchi State Police Command on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, arrested a 28-year-old ritual suspect, Rufai Yunus, who was involved in the murder of at least four children between the ages of two and two. four.
“His arrest was made after the same day at about 4.30 pm, a certain Isaku Ahmed from Unguvan Yamma, Kafin Madaki, filed a complaint with the Ganjuva Public Administration Department.
“He said that on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at about 12:30, he took his daughter Maimuna Isyaku to the local doctor (Rufai Yunus) for traditional treatment. Rufai told him that his daughter (Maimuna) was suffering from a spiritual disorder and assured him that his daughter would be cured.
Then he demanded and received from his father an amount of $ 10,000, after which he took the child to the forest, ostensibly for a spiritual healing session, but after a while he returned and informed the girl’s father that the child had mysteriously disappeared. process.
“After receiving the report, the patrol team of the Ganjuwa Division took action, searched the entire forest and found the dead body of the aforementioned Maimuna.”
“She went on to say that she was not his only victim, and claimed that she usually takes action with the consent of the parents, informing them behind the scenes that the children cannot return during the healing sessions.
“The knife and 26 pairs of children’s clothes were discovered as artifacts during the operation, and an investigation is ongoing, after which the suspect will be charged and possibly convicted,” he concluded.
