700 road projects are currently being implemented in the country – FG

According to the federal government, more than 700 road projects are being implemented in all geopolitical zones of the country.

Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Housing Ernest Umahihe announced this on Wednesday, December 9, during a speech at the 26th meeting of the National Building Council in Port Harcourt.

Umahihe, who said the road projects include intervention projects in higher education institutions, assured Nigerians that all the iconic road infrastructure under construction would be completed.

A statement circulated in Abuja by Director of Public Relations and Press Boade Akinola quoted the Permanent Secretary;

“The federal government has pledged to complete several landmark projects such as the second bridge over Niger, the Bodo-Bonni road, the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway and the Obajana-Kabba road in Kogi state.

“Likewise, the government has also pledged to complete road projects funded by Sukuk bonds in six geopolitical zones of the country and to maintain planned maintenance of 5,000 km of roads per year.”
