774,000 jobs: Bukhari approves November 1 special public works
PRESIDENT Muhammadu Bukhari approved the request of the Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Mr. Festus Kayamo, San Francisco, to move the start date of the Special Public Works Program from October 1 to November 1, 2020.
The program is attended by 1000 people from 774 local government districts of the country to perform black work for three months.
* A statement signed yesterday by a minister in Abuja said the approval was largely based on his note to the president, which said most of the proposed sites were still running out of water and the rains had not abated and the Program was designed to operate in dry season.
“It is assumed that by November 1, most of the project facilities will be ready for operation,” the statement says.
He also stated: “In the meantime, the acquisition of those to be transferred to the selected banks took place without interruption through 774 LGAs in the country.
Information on banks linked to specific LGAs can be found on the project website.
Additional information is also available from various state selection boards.
