A man arrested after being caught writing an exam for his wife while recruiting Osun teachers
The man, whose name is Adekunle Aremu, was arrested by the authorities for posing as his wife while recruiting Osun teachers at the Ilesha Pedagogical College KPT center.
The impostor was caught trying to write the entrance exam for his wife, Oyinade Sade Adegbite.
Education Department Information Officer Roselyn Olwavuni, who said so in a statement on Wednesday, February 10, said the suspect was arrested by agents of the Nigerian Security and Civil Protection Corps (NSCDC).
“He was caught after his passport photograph did not match the applicants’ photographs in the Ministry of Education’s database.” he declared.
Reacting to the incident, State Commissioner for Education, The Honorable Folorunsho Oladoin, condemned the act of imitation, pointing out that it is a shame that a would-be teacher could be found committing such crimes.
“It is a shame that someone who wants to teach students academically and morally could be involved in fraud, what an example such a person would set for students,” asked the commissioner. This is very annoying, ”said Oladoin.
“I use this opportunity to warn our young people not to cut corners, they need to know that honesty pays and is the only way to success. However, the suspect was transferred to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and criminal prosecution, ”he added.
