Abdulrazak announces 24-hour curfew in Qvar

Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Governor of Qara State, has imposed a state curfew.

The governor has imposed a 24-hour curfew on state residents from midnight today (Saturday).

The Governor made the announcement on Midland State 99.1 FM.

Abdulrazak said: “Life is at stake. Businesses have been plundered. Public objects were selected. This is unacceptable. We are not like that.

“To stop these criminal activities, I am declaring a 24-hour curfew in the metropolis of Ilorin, which begins today at midnight on October 23, 2020. This is in accordance with sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Public Order Act, chapter 382 of the Act. Federation of Nigeria 2004

“People are being encouraged to stay at home in accordance with this curfew. This will be considered as we follow the developments.

“According to our observations, what happened today is not a protest, it cannot be protected by any leadership, it was a pure crime, since some people are hiding under the guise of national protest.”

He asked security personnel to impose a curfew from midnight and restore normal life to the state.

Many public facilities, including the Ilorin Airport Cargo Terminal, Agro Mall, Customs and ShopRite in Ilorin, have been vandalized, while palliatives including rice, corn flour, indomin and other food and electronics products, and telephones and building materials were plundered by thugs who invaded these places.
