also think of Igbo, say the Yoruba elders in Bukhari.
Some elders in the southwest yesterday praised President Muhammad Bukhari for nominating one of his sons as head of administration.
Elders sponsored by the Conference of Concerned Yoruba Elders said the president’s gesture demonstrated his unshakable faith in the Southwest to help his administration provide much-needed security to Nigerians, as he promised during his campaign.
CCYE National Coordinator, prof. Olusegun Ajibola and National Secretary, Dr. Katherine Adisa, urged their relatives to respond to the President’s gesture by supporting his administration so that she can pass on a lasting legacy of good leadership for the country.
They, however, they expressed doubts about what they described as the ongoing deployment of their Igbo neighbors by a security management team.
This is a concern for them, they said, as it happened in the southeast for the second time since 2015.
They called on Bukhari to reconsider the appointments and to welcome the South East for justice and fairness.
They said that no ethnic group or tribe showed more interest in the Nigerian project than any other, and asked Bukhari to correct “this mistake” so that every part of the country could feel that it belongs to Nigeria.
