Anambra Procurement Boss, Oniejepu Wins Civil Servant of the Year
After open online voting for selected candidates for the 2020 Igbere TV Leadership Excellence Awards, The Hon. Sir. Meli Oniejepu, General Director of Anambra’s Public Procurement Department, was named Government Official of the Year.
Sir Onyejepu is former Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Budgeting, Monitoring and Implementation, prior to his current appointment as Head of Public Procurement.
The Igbere TV Awards have already met with the winner for profiling, prior to the award, where the head of the bureau was also presented with a platinum table for the event.
Speaking at a brief profiling event, the Anambra native said in a distinctly elated mood that he was grateful to the Nigerians for voting for him among other competitive candidates, and promised to continue to adhere to the ethical standards that govern his office as a “civil servant.”
The prestigious Igbere TV Leadership Excellence Award, endorsed by the African Union’s Economic, Social and Cultural Council (AU-ECOSOCC), recognizes and celebrates the outstanding influence of leaders across sectors and industries in Nigeria. The most anticipated award of 2020 is scheduled for December 10, 2020 at Sheraton Hotels and Towers in Abuja.
This year’s event will be one of the most outstanding and credible awards ceremonies in Nigeria, as representatives of the president, state governments, national and state assemblies, representatives of economic industries, humanitarian organizations and human activism will embellish the event.
Among the winners are Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria (Fund of the Year); Chapter (Honorable) Alex Talisman Ikvecheh, Founder of the Alex Ikvecheh Foundation (Person of the Year); Apostle Chinier Chibuzor, Overseer General, Omega Power Ministries (Most Outstanding Humanitarian of the Year); and Chief Uche Nwosu, former Imo Governor and Chief of Staff of the Imo State Government (hospitality face of the year).
Others: Hon. Chinedum Orji, Speaker of the Abia Assembly (Speaker of the Year); Senator Uba Sani, Central Kaduna (Senator of the Year); Dr. Betta Edu, Cross River State Commissioner for Health (Medical Expert of the Year); and former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, founder of the Kwankwasiyya Foundation (NGO of the Year).
The list also includes Dr. Gbene Joy Nunie, Immediate Former CEO of NDDC (Officer of the Year); The Honorable Samaila Suleiman, Northern Federal Electoral College of the Kaduna House of Representatives (Distinguished Empowerment Leader of the Year); and Valentin Ozigbo, Former President and CEO of Transcorp PLC, Founder of the VCO Foundation and Future Governor, running for Anambra 2021 (Empowerment Personality of the Year).
While Dr. Alice Oniema, Vice President of Air Peace, has been honored as the Aviation Personality of the Year; The Honorable Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, CEO / Chief Executive Officer of Property Finders Limited, developers of Centage Estate, Lagos and Oil Spring Estate, Entrepreneur of the Year awards; with Professor Georgeville Owunari, former Provost of the College of Medical Sciences (UNIPORT) and Board Member of the Asia Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine, recognized as Educator of the Year; and Olakunle Churchill as ICT Personality of the Year, among others.
At the 2019 Igbere TV Leadership Excellence Awards, held on November 28, 2019 at the Sheraton Hotels in Abuja, distinguished and distinguished industry captains, public figures and leaders adhered to various categories of awards.
Prominent winners include President Muhammadu Bukhari; Dr. Godwin Maduka, a Nigerian medical billionaire based in the United States; former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, The Honorable. Yakubu Dogara; Minister Rotimi Amaech, Senator Rochas Okorcha, Governor Ifeani Ugwuani from Enugu and others.
According to Igbere TV, the organizers of the award ceremony, which will take place this year on December 10, have been named the largest and most exciting online media award in Africa. The program will be broadcast live on DSTV, GOTV, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Zoom, Instagram and other social networks with over 10 million viewers worldwide.
