Andy Uba moves against party leaders for campaign funds

There are indications that All Progressives Congress (APC) governor candidate in the Anambra governorate election, Senator Andy Uba, may have moved to recover his campaign funds that would be released to top state politicians after their inability to hand over their local governments.

Sources said the candidate would release various sums of money to senators, House of Representatives and state lawmakers to secure his victory in some local state governments.

But the president of the APC in the state, chief Basil Ejidike, denied the accusation that Uba sent thugs to recover millions of money given to members of his electoral organization and some individuals to hand it over during the elections. Ejidike, who spoke to this reporter, said: “I am not aware of this and have not seen or heard anyone who has been asked to return money.

And now that I think about it, what you are saying is that we have been involved in buying votes which is against the electoral law.

Efforts to reach the chief proved unsuccessful as it was not possible to contact him by phone, but it was learned that he expressed disappointment at not being able to deliver Sen. Uba, noting that he had a lot of baggage which made him unacceptable from the electorate.

Similarly, a former member representing the Idemili North and South Federal Constituency who moved from APGA to APC (names omitted) would be on the run over UBA’s alleged attempt to recover over N1.5 billion given to him to win. the Idemili North Local Area government for the APC.

He failed to answer our reporter’s call when his position on the matter was asked. Idemili North has the highest number of registered voters in the state of Anambra totaling approximately 167,000 voters.

Similarly, some members of the House of Representatives who moved from the APGA and PDP to the APC are said to be in trouble following the alleged attempt to recover N850,000 million given to them to hand over Uba during the government elections in state. Various social media campaign groups in the state are currently abuzz with news of the alleged recovery, as some of the beneficiaries have refused to repay their money.

Additionally, some 70 Uba-branded vehicles given to members of his campaign organization were not found as they would have disappeared with the members.
