ASUU: We are ready to resume
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) made it clear on Thursday that the union would soon suspend its lengthy strike, as its chairman, Professor Biodun Ogyunemi, said university professors are ready to return. at school.
The ASUU President made the offer, although the federal government, through Labor and Employment Minister Dr. Chris Ngige, has assured that it will meet the union’s demands on time.
Professor. Ogunemi, who spoke at a meeting between the federal government led by the labor minister and the ASUU leadership led by the president, said their members are ready to resume work because it is a matter of national concern.
Emphasize that their members also have children at home, as do all other parents who have children at home due to the prolonged strike.
ASUU President said, “Our members are ready and willing to go to class because it is a matter of national concern. Like every other person’s child is at home, the children of our members are at home too. ”
Professor Ogunemi thanked, in particular, the Chairman of the Senate and the Minister of Labor and Employment, the Chief Accountant of the Federation for allowing them to discuss these issues.
He noted that, however, the ASUU delegation came to the meeting with an open mind, its members expect a lot from the meeting.
