Atiku congratulates the President of Ghana on his re-election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar congratulated President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his re-election,

Atiku, who sent a congratulatory message to Ghana’s president on his verified Twitter account on Thursday, said the smooth running of Ghana’s elections should open Nigeria’s eyes.

The former vice president called on Nigeria to undertake far-reaching electoral reforms aimed at addressing the shortcomings of Nigeria’s previous experience and strengthening the electoral process.

Akufo-Addo, under the auspices of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), scored 6,730,430 votes to defeat his arch rival, former President John Maham and the NDC candidate, who received 6,214,889 votes. …
