Avoid the Idom community – Biafra’s agitators have warned
The Honorable Executive President of the local government Ado. James Oche said the community would never accept Biafra’s agitators.
Hon. Geese have reacted to the recent alleged raising of the defunct Biafa flag in a community in Ado, according to IDOMA VOICE.
The LG boss, however, said that those behind the act of sabotaging the territorial integrity of Ado’s local government and, by extension, Benue State, would be rescued and faced with the consequences of their actions.
In a personally signed statement the Honorable. Gies urged the residents of the area to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding as they always have been, as his administration makes frantic efforts to bring the dividends of democracy to their doorstep.
His statement is read in full.
This became relevant because, due to fears of intrusion into the border communities of Ado local self-government by some criminal elements, who are called the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) agitators, they put the records in proper order.
It is true that the ado local government’s border communities are engaging with the border communities of Ebony State in southeast Nigeria in terms of trade and other social obligations.
That, despite this social affinity due to geographic location, there is a deep, understandable and recognized demarcation with respect to the geographic integrity and communal inequality of the land and population of Benue and the State of Ebonya.
That the residents of Benue State, and in particular the Local Government of Ado, under the outstanding leadership of His Excellency Dr. Samuel Orthom, Executive Governor of Benue State, are not engaging in any form of campaigning for the banned indigenous peoples of Biafra. (IPOB) and we, as a local government, will resist any such attempt within the scope of our authority and law.
We note with dismay that some indigenous people from the Ado local government colluded and supported the agitators who informed us and hoisted the Biafra flag in the Odoke market in the Ekile community in Ado LGC. It is pertinent to say that our operational reaction, supported by the military, nipped them in the bud, as they hurried to get off the flag and chased information that we were on the way.
That those who are behind this sabotage of the territorial integrity of the local government of Ado and, as a consequence, of the state of Benue will be saved and face the consequences of their actions.
We reaffirm our unwavering support for the administration of His Excellency Dr. Samuel Orthom and his Deputy Ingres Benson Abunu, who are committed to ensuring the safety of the lives and property of the Benue people.
We urge our people to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding as always. We also urge them to report any form of intrusion into our collective territory by criminal elements acting in the style of banned IPOB agitators, as well as their internal employees, to the appropriate authorities for immediate action.
