Ayade’s assistant, Freeman Godwin, threatens suicide over non-payment of wages
One of the special aides to the Governor of Cross River, Freeman Godwin, threatened suicide over unpaid wages.
He claimed not a dime since his appointment last year.
Godwin claimed to have received a loan to process his appointment papers, but complained that he could not do so due to non-payment of wages.
In a video received by The Nation, he said, “I’m ready to die in this office. I decided to commit suicide alone.
I’ve lost everything. I was there to live my life and they called me to make an appointment. They asked me to borrow some liquidation money.
“At the end of the day, they chose people and paid $ 100,000. Telling me what Ben Ayade said, Ben Ayade said. So I need to go and get a letter from Ben Ayade.
“Please don’t touch me. I will die for them.
… I sold everything to pay this young man.
I borrowed money, came here and completed the paperwork in the hope that when they pay me, I will return the loan.
“See, my wife gave birth through CS. Little girl, I just said show me what I can do, but nothing … “
