Bandit Commander Auvalu Daudawa and 6 other people hand over 28 rifles to the Zamfara government
Six other militants, led by their leader, Auvalu Daudawa, delivered 28 AK 47 assault rifles, as well as 27 magazines and machine guns to the Zamfara state government on Monday.

About ten days ago, six repentant bandits donated 14 rifles to the state authorities, promising to renounce armed banditry and other forms of crime.
The repentant bandits, who swore an oath on the Koran in the Government Palace, said they would not return to banditry.

Their leader, Auvalu Daudava, also promised to convince those who have not yet repented to do so.
Having accepted the repentant bandits, Governor Bello Matavalle urged all bandits to come out and accept the peace process initiated by his administration, and promised to take care of all who repent.

“My administration will take care of all repentant bandits, and I will continue to speak with the bandits to end the banditry in the state,” he said.

Matavalle urged residents of the state, especially politicians, to support his administration in its efforts to get rid of banditry and other forms of criminal activity.
