Bandits attack Abubakar Dauran, commissar Zamfara’s column, kill the driver
Bandits operating in the states of Katsina and Zamfara attacked a column of State Commissioner for Security and Internal Affairs Zamfara the Venerable on Monday. Abubakar Dauran, instantly killing his driver.

Our correspondent learned that the incident took place when the Commissioner traveled from Katsina State, where he went to deliver 26 kidnapped minors rescued by the Zamfara State Government to the Katzina State Government.
When contacted, the state police command confirmed the incident, stating that the armed bandits did not engage in direct confrontation with the commissioner and his column.
In a statement signed and provided to reporters in Gusau, the state capital, police spokesman Mohammed Shehu said the convoy had been crossfired by two groups of bandits.
“The government delegation was headed by the Honorable Commissioner for Security and Internal Affairs. Abubakar Dauran participated in a shootout between two groups of warring bandits in Dogon Karfi, Gidan Jaji, along the Zurmi-Jibiya road, in the Zurmi local government area in Zamfara state, ”the statement said.
Shehu appealed to the public to always provide the secret services with useful information that could lead to the arrest of bandits.
