Barakat Melojuekun, 16, pleads with Nigerians to “give matter a rest”
Barakat Melojuekun, a 16-year-old girl, accused the Honorable Ogun State Commissioner for the Environment. Abiodun Abudu Balogun, for trying to rape her and use her for rituals, appealed to the Nigerians to solve this problem.
The girl who said this in another video posted on the Internet thanks the Nigerians for their concern about this, but encourages them to leave the matter alone.
Melojuekun accused the commissioner of sexually harassing her with the help of two other people.
However, the commissioner denied the 16-year-old girl’s accusations of sexual harassment against him.
The commissioner denied the allegations in a statement released Saturday 2 January in Abeokuta.
He said: “Taking note of the principle of innocence of the suspect until proven otherwise, and the public statement made by the Honorable. Abudu-Balogun denies this accusation, as the government, intolerant of gender-based violence and any crime, the removal is another demonstration of the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun’s commitment to the principles of justice, equality, fairness and the rule of law, regardless of who is involved. “
In response, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun removed the commissioner from office to allow him to fully cooperate with the independent police investigation.
