Bauchi Sharia Commission Destroys Alcohol Bottles

“The destruction of alcoholic beverages followed several instructions from the Commission to refrain from doing so.

“We will intensify our efforts on our daily patrols to protect our environment. Sharia law in Bauchi allowed the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in selected areas, including military and police barracks and national parks, ”he said.

Chapter 108 of the Penal Code: Section 403 (1-2) states: “Anyone who prepares alcohol or any drug by producing, pressing, extracting or touching for himself or others, or trades in alcohol, accuses alcohol, commits a crime. “Buying or selling, or supplying, or renting, or supplying premises for the storage, conservation or consumption, advertising or other trade or processing of alcoholic beverages in predominantly Muslim cities or villages.”

“And he will be punished with up to two years’ imprisonment or a fine that can be up to NZ $ 10,000, or both a fine and imprisonment. In addition, alcoholic beverages must be confiscated and publicly destroyed. ”
