Benue youth take part in #EndSARS protests and take main streets |

Hundreds of angry youths protested police brutality in Benue State, The PUNCH reported.

On Saturday, young people took to the streets of Makurdi, the state capital, to join the #EndSARS protests in different parts of the country.

Young people gathered at the IBB Square in Makurdi and marched through the central streets of the state capital.

The young people also made their way to Porta Tito and passed through the railway market before heading to the Police Headquarters.

They could be heard singing songs of solidarity, blocking traffic.

Young people also carried posters with various messages, such as: “Stop Police Brutality”, “Service Leaders Must Go”, “Restructuring Nigeria” and “Give Us Jobs”.

Other inscriptions read “We deserve better”, “Safeguard Nigeria” and “Fix Nigeria”.

#EndSARS protests took place in major cities across the country, with young people calling for an end to police brutality and killings.

Major highways across the country were blocked, triggering economic activity.
