According to SaharaReporters, some Boko Haram rebels severely attacked the special forces base of Task Force 27 Brigade located in Ngomari in Buni Yadi and Kumuya in the Buni Gari region of Yobe state, killing three soldiers. about 171 more people left the base or are missing.

Military sources told SaharaReporter that the rebels destroyed heavy military equipment and shared photos of weapons trucks that had been demolished by the rebels from the ground.

“Terrorists attacked us on Friday morning. They attacked a military base and burned it down. Three soldiers were killed, one was wounded, and about 171 were missing. The base is empty, but we asked for reinforcements, ”a military source said.

“The Camel MRAP was burned, the 105 MMPH artillery gun, the Conqueror and the T72 tank were burned. The terrorists also set fire to the camp, ”another source said.

SaharaReporter learned that the terrorists were assisted by local informants and sympathizers before attacking the military base.

During the attack, terrorists used heavy weapons to destroy military equipment and patrolled the community to prevent soldiers from reinforcements.

It became known that the rebels retreated when reinforcements from Nigerian troops arrived at the base.

Currently, Nigerian forces are also restricting movement on the Damaturu-Damboa-Biu road following rebel attacks.
