Both from Lagos first appeared in public after bandits ransacked his building
A few weeks after Lagos Oba, Oba Rilwan Akiolu’s palace was desecrated and its office staff stolen by the thugs who hijacked the #EndSARS protest on Wednesday, October 21, the monarch made his first public appearance on Sunday, November 8.
The monarch was portrayed in a peaceful dialogue organized by thought leaders in the Southwest to address issues that led to a recent national protest that ended in violence that shook the region to its very foundations.
On Wednesday 21 October, thugs attacked and gained access to Oba’s palace in Lagos, located in Iga Idugaran, on the island of Lagos, where they destroyed and stole several items.
A viral video on social networks captures the moment when the bandits took the employees from the office of Ona, popularly called “Opa Ase”.
However, a week after the attack by the Lagos thugs, Oba was invited back to his palace. In his new appearance, Oba was depicted with a governor and another monarch.
