Bukhari approves establishment of oxygen plants in 36 states
Permission has been obtained to set up at least one oxygen plant in each of the 36 states of the federation.
The approval was given by President Bukhari.
He also agreed to rehabilitate five oxygen plants at medical facilities in Nigeria.
Boss Mustafa, the COVID-19 TPB Chair, announced this during a briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.
“The rehabilitation of five oxygen plants at various medical facilities in Abuja has been approved.
“The President also approved the immediate installation of at least one oxygen system in every state of the federation.
“The National Coordinator will elaborate on this aspect during the briefing.
“We are currently facing a critical phase in the spread of infections around the world,” said Mustafa.
Mustafa said the PTF is constantly reviewing its strategy for emerging situations, especially with regard to risk communication, vaccine hesitancy, fake news / disinformation.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) registered 1,354 new cases of COVID-19 in the country on Tuesday evening.
According to the NCDC, the total number of new infections in Nigeria has reached 92,705.
