Buruku LG President dies

Benue State Buruku District President Daniel Deajir has passed away.

Deajir, 52, died Thursday night at a hospital in Makurdi, the state capital.

Gov. Samuel Hortom confirmed the defeat on Friday in a statement from his spokesman, Terver Akase.

Orthom said the death was “shocking and devastating.”

He described Deajir, who was elected president in March 2020, as a gentleman and a diligent administrator.

Hortom added that the deceased had already had a positive influence on his leadership.

The governor consoled the residents of Buruku and the Deajir family.

He also prayed for the peace of a dead soul.
