COVID-19: fake vaccination certificates now in Nigeria – FG raises the alarm

The federal government on Monday sounded the alarm about a black market for fake vaccination certificates in the country.

President of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19 and Federation Government Secretary Boss Mustapha sounded the alarm during the committee’s media briefing in Abuja, revealing that arrangements are in place to vaccinate the 50%. of Nigerians by the end of January 2022.

Mustapha said the Committee has reliable information that an illegal market for vaccination certificates has been created in the country.

He did, however, assure that no illegally procured vaccination certificate would climb the check whenever the need arose as all vaccination records must be verified as authentic at every relevant point.

“We have received information and even found that some unscrupulous citizens obtain vaccination cards through the black market,” said Mustapha.

“Let me assure everyone that vaccination records / certificates will be verified and this should serve as a warning to those criminally inclined people to desist because they will be prosecuted accordingly,” he assured.
