A modern person consumes a huge amount of intellectual products – he reads books, watches films, listens to music, buys designer items, plays computer games, travels and goes sightseeing. In Europe, back in the 1980s and 1990s, at the time of the industrial crisis, all these creative industries began to consolidate and commercialize, and today they constitute an important part of the GDP of many countries. We live in an era of explosion of creative labor, and mechanical activity where there are algorithms will be more and more automated. A person will only have to find himself in creativity, developing a contribution to the economy of the future, including the creative development of territories.
In order to see the potential for the development of intangible products based on creative values, it is necessary to rethink the space, including vacated industrial facilities (as has already been done in Moscow at Winzavod and Flacon). In fact, urbanism is the foundation for creative industries, as it is about creating a comfortable environment for a new urban dweller format.
Industries that are part of the creative industries have been listed on the UNESCO list. These are architecture, music and film industries, visual arts, dance, video game creation, etc. But this list may vary depending on the country, including local cultural products.
For example, in Italy, Mediterranean cuisine is included in the creative industries. In Russia, this can be safely attributed to our corporate humor. Look how quickly Stand Up has developed in our country, how many years KVN has been popular!
In addition, crafts can become a Russian feature. Indeed, in our country, a hand-made culture was initially very strongly developed: homework, woodwork and metalwork. Now all this, unfortunately, is on the decline and various programs are trying to revive the crafts, highlighting individual authors. But, unfortunately, most brands still exist somewhere very local with no access to the public field.
The creation of creative industries is greatly influenced by the country’s political and economic agenda. Therefore, the speed of development of certain creative directions is very different. In any case, natural resources are gradually depleting, while the amount of the world flow of products of creative industries, on the contrary, is increasing. So sooner or later we will have to pay attention to the creation and exploitation of intellectual capital.
In Moscow, directions for the development of creative industries have already begun to be created. This includes park culture, a comfortable urban environment, and new institutions for the development of public spaces. Several years ago, a program for the development of the urban environment at the state level was adopted, and now we see how active the support of the creative class is, how new spaces are being created.
With the help of the concept of creative industries, it is possible not only to create clusters for the work of creative people, with its help it is possible to develop territories that will be of interest to travelers from all over the world. And in Russia, despite the abundance of beautiful places, the abundance of monuments of architecture and art, only a few cities can boast of a large influx of tourists – St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vladimir, Suzdal.
The problem with infrastructure in many regions is still urgent. You cannot invite people to drive along unsettled roads and look at dilapidated buildings. But here, of course, some political will is needed to preserve and develop the heritage. The creative industry allows you to create local value. If a person receives support for his creativity in his city, he will never leave there. There will be no internal emigration. Now, by and large, all creative activity is concentrated in the capital, because there is a high concentration of creative clusters that allow us to aggregate this energy collectively.
Some foci are already appearing in the regions. However, development support is needed here, because creative people themselves cannot build spaces with wi-fi and comfortable workplaces. An integrated approach is needed to resolve the issue.
In Moscow, in this sense, market conditions. It is difficult to get to “Khlebozavod” or “Flacon” just like that. You have to represent something of yourself, prove your worth, be interesting as a resident and still pay rent. Such a system determines thinking, helps to fit into the market structure, confirmed by economic levers.
The task of the state, as a regulator, in this case is to create conditions for the development of creative units, for human capital.
As for the economy of the future, now we see the digitalization of a huge number of industries, and this process is already inevitable. This means that the creative class will only grow, people who previously performed mechanical tasks will be freed.
The competition “Masters of Hospitality” of the platform “Russia – Land of Opportunities” is designed to develop a creative component in the development of Russian territories. Thanks to him, talented youth, young professionals will have the opportunity to apply creative skills in life. And this is the future of our economy.
