Criminals have caused major tensions in Benin City after looting palliative drugs from COVID-19, according to PREMIUM TIMES.
On Saturday, thugs broke into a government warehouse on Medical Store Road in Uselu, the capital of Edo state, and looted palliative items from COVID-19.
The crowd, which the military prevented from holding the action in the morning, managed to break a human shield installed by the military and entered the store in hundreds.
The man would die trying to escape the warehouse with his prey.
The man was reported to have had access to the COVID-19 palliative warehouse through a rear opening created by the looters in the roof at the rear of the warehouse.
After taking his share of the objects, it was revealed that the man tried to exit through the same channel, but lost his balance and fell headlong, hitting his head on hard concrete. He died instantly.
The deceased’s identity could not be confirmed at the time of this report, but the recorded video, which went viral, also showed that another woman was bleeding to death when carried by two men.
The woman had a wound in the back of her neck, although no one knew how it appeared, as the narrator did not reveal the source of the wound.
No shootings were reported as the crowd, mostly young people, seized food in the warehouse.
As it became known, the security forces are currently trying to take the situation under control.
