One of the leading figures of the #EndSARS movement, Deji Adeyancu, filed a complaint against lawyer Kenechukwu Okeke with the Legal Disciplinary Commission for “misconduct by a professional lawyer”.

The action against Okeke follows criminal charges against 50 #EndSARS activists at Abuja’s main magistrate court for their alleged role in protests that he said led to looting and destruction of property. …

In a case brought on Monday under sections 88, 109 (a), 110 (1) (c) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, Okeke listed prominent individuals as defendants, including artists and social media influencers.

The lawyer said his property was destroyed during the riots, stressing that the defendants should be held accountable for their loss.

The list of defendants includes musician Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, David Adeleke, commonly known as Davido, Folarin Falana, aka Falz; comedians on social media, Debo Adebayo, aka Mr. Macaroni, and Maryam Akpaokagi, aka Taoma.

He also listed some activists, including Adeyanja, Aisha Yesufu, Feyikemi Abudu, Olorunrina Odwala, Pamilerin Adegoke, Japhet Omojuwa, Ayo Sogunro and others.

Following the petition, Adeyanju, LPDC stated, “Okeke of Ghana Street, Maitama, Abuja, must respond to the allegations contained in the affidavits attached to this matter and that such an order should be issued in accordance with the discretion of the committee. Quite right. “
