Disbanded SARS Police Unit Denies Young People Access to Premises to Search for the Anambra Complex

Disagreements erupted on Friday at the headquarters of SARS police, recently disbanded in Anambra, as thousands of young people who marched there insisted a search of the complex.

It turned out that the perseverance of the young people followed the belief that some of the suspects were usually killed and buried in the complex where the offices of SARS were located.

One of the protesters, who spoke to our reporter, said: “We learned that usually some suspects killed are buried on the territory of their home. We want to exhume their bodies so that their loved ones know they are dead and bury them. ”

However, attempts by the demonstrators to enter the compound were rejected by armed security personnel, which sparked controversy.

Furious protesters were annoyed at the refusal of the police to grant them access and resorted to blocking the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.

Anambra State Police Public Affairs Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, who responded to the inquiries, said the former SARS complex has been converted into a State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) application.

“It’s now a CID app. They (suspects) held at the center are being examined and investigated to clarify the charges against them. Persons recognized as incapacitated will be prosecuted, and those authorized will be released without any conditions, ”he said.

Meanwhile, the protesters return to Avku from Avkuzu.
