DSS, Army Weapons Store, Ebony Temple; IPOB indicted
Nigerian security forces have located an arms depot in Effium, in the Ohaukwu metropolitan area, in Ebony state.

An intelligence source told PRNigeria on Saturday that a combined group of agents had stormed the arsenal location.
The piercing operation was performed by the Department of Public Service (DSS) and the Nigerian army.
Items recovered included AK-47 assault rifles, a G3 rifle, a shotgun, a Dane double-barreled pistol, five Dane single-barreled pistols, two locally made pistols and a locally made revolving pistol.
Also, about 600 different calibers of ammunition were found, including for the general machine gun (GPMG).
The suspects detained during the operation were arrested for questioning and brought to justice.
Locals believe that the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) and the sponsors of the Ezza-Effium crisis are the owners of the reserves.
Witnesses said the four people arrested during the raid were allegedly members of the group.
They added that a shrine had been discovered that served as a protective shield for the IPOB and others.
DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya neither confirmed nor denied the operation.
He said it was appropriate for the security service to cooperate with the military and other law enforcement agencies.
Afunanya pledged that DSS will maintain Nigeria’s internal security.
Last week, the Ebony state government set up a judicial commission to investigate the Ezza-Effium municipal war.
Several citizens were killed in intermittent clashes. The overall situation remains unstable.
