Edo Police Parade 126 suspects for evasion, robbery and more
On Wednesday, the Edo State Police Command unveiled 126 suspected raids, robberies and vandalism following the # EndSARS protests that shook the country.
According to figures provided by State Police Commissioner Johnson Kokumo, 106 suspects were arrested for breaking into stores, robbery and arson. He also said that 10 fugitives were re-arrested and 10 suspects for other crimes.
He said: “The command wants to inform the public about the # EndSARS protest, which has been overrun by thugs and thugs who have gone mad, causing chaos, mainly in the Benin metropolis.
“As you all know, criminals burned down police stations, stole weapons and ammunition, raped women in some areas, killed police officers on their bloody path to destruction, freed convicted criminals and criminals, looted businesses and extorted extortion from innocent Nigerians. “
Kokumo regretted that the stolen weapons would be unleashed against members of the public, but reassured residents of the police commitment to return the stolen weapons and to protect lives and property in the state.
