EFCC Confirms Website Attacks

Following the recent ire of websites in the country by the Anonymous group, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reported attempts to hack its website.

Anonymous, a legion of hackers, have claimed responsibility for hacking into the agency’s internet platform.

The group also moderated the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) website and threatened to target more.

The anonymous group says their actions are aimed at supporting the EndSARS protests in the country.

The EFCC, however, made sure that its website was not hacked.

On Monday, Wilson Uvujaren, head of media at EFCC, noted that attempts at compromise had been recorded over the weekend.

The spokesman accused “cybercriminals” of nearly violating his privacy.

Uvujaren said the attempts were successfully rejected and the website “works”.
