Emir Billiri dies a few days after recovering from deadly coronavirus (photos)
Emir Billiri died 12 days after recovering from the deadly coronavirus.
According to the DailyPost, Dr. Abdu Buba Meisheru II (Mai Tangale), the first-class ruler of the Tangale chiefdom in Gombe, tested positive for the coronavirus a few months ago but recovered after treatment.
Former Gombe Governor Hassan Dankwambo confirmed his death on Monday.
However, he did not give details of his death.
The former governor, in a message on his Twitter page, expressed shock at the death of the emir.
Dunkwambo congratulated the family of the Emir and the people of Gombo on his death.
His tweet read: “My family and I would like to express our deepest condolences to the good people of Gombe on the death of His Royal Highness Dr. Abdou Buba Meisher II (Mai Tangale), Emir Billiri.
“His death was a sudden shock, but I pray Almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest.”
