#EndSARS: Nigeria Immigration Service Tells Modupe Odela When To Pick Up Her Passport

A Nigerian lawyer who was among the defenders of #EndSARS received an update from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on when to arrive and collect the seized passport.

Modupe Odele screamed on Twitter after her passport was seized a few days ago with no explanation.

NIS said that Odele’s passport will be ready for issuance from 4:00 pm today (Friday).

Odel reported this through her verified Twitter account. “The immigration office told me that my passport is ready for collection by 4:00 pm today.” I respectfully informed them that I would be there on Monday to pick him up. “From today Friday, I asked for the time earlier, but I was told that it would only be ready from 4:00 pm today on Friday,” he wrote.

On Thursday, NIS denied having her passport seized due to her involvement in a campaign against police brutality.

Lawyer Odele told how NIS employees did not allow her to fly out of the country. She actively participated in the End SARS campaign, offering legal assistance to people arrested during the demonstration.
