#EndSARS: Port Harcourt Residents Protest Wyck’s Order (video)

Residents of Rivers took to the streets to launch a peaceful #ENDSARS protest against Governor Weik’s orders.

EndSARS: Protesters Challenge Vika, March Demanding Police Reform

Nigerians who attacked Tuesday took to the streets of Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, to protest police brutality in violation of a directive from Governor Nyosoma Waik.

On Monday, Wyke banned protests against the Nigeria Anti-Robbery Special Police Force (SARS) in the state.

Mohammed Adamu, Inspector General of Police (PGI), killed an anti-robbery team on Sunday following nationwide protests against extrajudicial killings and human rights violations.

But despite the division’s disbandment, demonstrators across the country continued to call for police reform.

Reacting to the SARS campaign, Wyck said further protests were unnecessary as the unit was demolished.

Therefore, he instructed law enforcement agencies to enforce the ban on protests and arrest of criminals.

But the protesters gathered in Port Harcourt, carrying signs and chanting “EndSARS”.

They insisted that the governor has no right to prohibit peaceful protests.
