Nigerian internet publisher Austin Oganna has called on #EndSARS protesters to agree to talks.
Ohanna, who is president of Nigeria’s online publishers’ association, OPAN, thanking the # EndSARS / # EndSWAT protesters for their courage so far, said it was time to open the channels to set the stage for negotiations.
He condemned the attacks on police facilities in Lagos, Benin, and the release of prisoners at the Benin Correctional Center. “Although the attacks were carried out by thugs, they shouldn’t happen because they distract us from our conversations,” he said.
“I believe it is time to sit down at the negotiating table to develop a strategy for the reforms we want to implement and to conclude an agreement. The #EndSARS protest is spiraling out of control, distracted by thugs and unbelievers. We must not allow this to happen, ”he added.
