ESN agents are thugs and we will treat them like killers

State Governor Imo Hope Uzodimma has characterized the Eastern Security Network (ESN) agents as thugs who terrorize the state, Igbere TV reported.

The governor said this in response to airstrikes and a joint (police / military) operation in Oryol to find UST in the state.

The government also confirmed that it has invited the military to “hunt down” members of the Eastern Security Network, a branch of the indigenous peoples of Biafra (IPOB) in Orel and Orsu.

Speaking to IgbereTV in Owerri on Friday through Imo State Attorney General and Justice Commissioner Cyprian Akaolis, Governor Hope Uzodimma said the eastern security network agents were thugs and the state government would treat them as assassins.

According to him, IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu endangered the residents of the state with his ESN activities in Orel.

On Thursday, the Nigerian military conducted aerial operations in fields believed to be occupied by the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Imo state.

The operations forced residents of the municipal districts of Orlu and Orsu in Imo State to flee in search of safety.
