Fake COVID-19 Results Certificates For Sale In Lagos – Government
The Lagos state government has raised new alarm over the results of COVID-19.

The Lagos government, through Health Commissioner Professor Akin Abayomi, raised the alarm on Monday about fake COVID-19 certificates for sale in the state.
Abayomi spoke at a press conference giving an update on the second wave of the virus in Lagos.
He said the government drew attention to the fact that a number of people who entered the country were paternalists selling fake COVID-19 results certificates.
Abayomi said the government is currently setting up mechanisms to arrest those who conduct such unfair business.
The Commissioner also sounded the alarm over an increase in positive cases of arriving travelers, which rose to 8% this week.
In his words: “Affirmation for inbound travelers is growing (8% this week, 4% cumulative) as Diaspora Nigerians return to spend Christmas in Lagos.
“It has been discovered that a number of people are sponsoring people who are selling fake COVID-19 results.
“We are currently implementing processes to identify both buyers and sellers and will not hesitate to hold both of them liable to the maximum extent permitted by law.”
Abayomi also said that the reason for the second wave of COVID-19 is related to the reopening of schools, general weakness, false feelings, safety and non-adherence to guidelines; opening of the economy, option, large religious gathering and social gathering and entertainment.
It revealed that the state of Lagos has increased its testing capacity per day (August to December 2020) as the state is currently testing between 2,000 and 3,000 per day.
