Fake EFCC employees set to extort people captured after voicing Lady of N10m

Security officers have arrested a certain Williams Michael Ogwezi, also known as Dr. Williams, who is trying to extort unsuspecting victims by claiming to be an employee of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

He was arrested by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Division.

The suspect, a member of a union specializing in forging the Commission’s identity cards as well as other law enforcement credentials, was arrested in Lagos following a message received by the Commission from the Nigeria Police Department. … Aja, Lagos.

The investigation revealed that the suspect had stolen from one of his victims, a woman, jewelry worth 10,000,000.00 N (ten million naira) prior to his arrest. The suspect confessed to involvement in the alleged crime.

Items recovered from him during his arrest include an EFCC ID card, EFCC masks, three laptops, three cell phones, and two cars.
