Nigerian footballer Ibrahim Odiba passed out and died while training at Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, the state capital.

The tragic accident occurred on the morning of Saturday 20 February 2020. According to eyewitnesses, Odiba, the former midfielder of FC ABS, was full of life when he resumed training, and even as he fainted, no one suspected that he was the last.
The Kogi-born Kaduna United player joined his colleagues at Kogi All Stars training at Confluence Stadium without showing signs of deteriorating health. Confluence All Stars member Tomiva Laval told OnwardNews24 that Odiba was a lively and friendly member who always showed great professionalism.
He said that we will miss Odiba very much, just as he prayed to God to bless his soul and allow his closest relatives to survive his death. “We are saddened and appalled by the death of one of us, Ibrahim Odiba, who fainted at Confluence Stadium in Lokoja during training this morning.” There was no touch, no contact with anyone; he fell facedown about five minutes after starting the second half of our workout this morning.
“He was taken to the hospital to continue his treatment, but unfortunately he could not. “We will miss him very much, he was a very kind and humble person, a very professional and devoted member of the All Stars family.”
