FRSC begins full application of NIN as a condition for vehicle registration
The Federal Highway Traffic Safety Corps (FRSC) says it is required to provide a valid National Identification Number (NIN) for all vehicle registration categories.

Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Bisi Kazim, a Corps public education officer, said this in a statement Saturday in Abuja.
The FRSC began implementing this directive on December 21, 2020, when the Marshal required all national driver’s license applicants to provide their NINs before being caught for any class of driver’s license.
Kazim said this is fully in line with the federal government’s directives to harmonize citizen data.
“FRSC Corps Marshal Dr. Boboye Oyemi has also made NIN compulsory for all vehicle registration categories starting in the second quarter of 2021. This is fully in line with presidential directives.
“Therefore, all vehicle registration applicants must provide their NIN as a precondition for registering their vehicles.
Kazim emphasized the need for members of the public who have not signed up for the current NIN registration to hurry up and do the necessary because the Corps ordered not to register any vehicle whose owner has not been seized by National Identity Management. Commission Database (NIMC).
“Starting from the second quarter of this year 2021, if you want to register your car, you will be required to indicate your NIN.
“This is part of the security checks. Therefore, once you provide your NIN, simplify the matter and help the government in national planning.
