General Dzarma Zirkusu, 3 soldiers die as troops neutralize ISWAP terrorists

OPERATION HADIN KAI: TROOPS NEUTRALIZE DIFFERENT ISWAP TERRORISTS, DESTROY EQUIPMENT IN ASKIRA UBA ENCOUNTER

Troops from the Joint Task Force, Northeast Operation HADIN KAI, neutralized several terrorists from the West African province of the Islamic State (ISWAP) during a recent meeting in the Askira Uba local government area in Borno state. In the fierce confrontation that is still raging at the time of this writing, troops supported by the OPHK air component have destroyed five A-Jets, two A-29s, two Dragon combat vehicles and nine Gun Trucks.

Sadly, a valiant senior officer, Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu, and three soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice in a very rare show of gallantry as they provided reinforcement in a counter-offensive against terrorists and successfully defended the position. The family of the senior officer and soldiers have been contacted.

The Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, is deeply commiserated with the families and relationships of the fallen heroes. He also ordered the troops to continue the ferocious counter-offensive and the pursuit to eliminate the remains of the fleeing terrorists.
