George Obiozor becomes President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo

Former Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Professor George Obiozor becomes the new general president of the Igbo Ohanaese Ndigbo socio-cultural group.

He scored 304 votes to beat the other two rivals to emerge victorious in the just-concluded election at Dan Anyam Owerri Stadium.

The elections were attended by the governors of the states of Imo and Ebony, Minister of Labor Chris Ngige, UN Minister of Science and Technology Ogbonnaya, Senator Andy Uba, former President General Ohanaese Ndigbo Gary Igarive, Archbishop of Enugu Province, the Anglican community, Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma and many other senators southeast and south-south.
