Governor of Lagos Calls for Calm, Warns Against New Protests

@Followlasg urged all Lagosians to avoid any action that could threaten the peace of our dear nation as it struggles to recover from the shock of the carnage unleashed by thugs hiding behind the #EndSARS protests.

While we are still counting our painful loss of life and property, there are signs of renewed protest. The police have warned that protests are unacceptable.

Any protest in any form would be disrespectful to the memory of those who died as a result of the violence, and unfair to the Lagos communes, which have remained peaceful despite the hardships experienced during the initial protests.

It is clear that the initial protests, despite their good intentions, caused more chaos than was thought possible to resolve.

The government hereby calls on our patriotic youth to abandon any protest plans and join concrete efforts to find solutions to the problems that have arisen as a result of the actions taken in recent weeks.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to keep their children / wards at home; they should not be used by the enemies of our society as weapons of destruction.

Anyone with a complaint about a dissolved SARS should contact the Judicial Investigation and Restitution Commission to present their case.

Governor @jidesanwoolu advises all Lagos residents to stay calm and be confident that the government will zealously guard the coat of arms for which Lagos is famous. Any person or group of people intending to provoke a crisis in Lagos must abandon such thoughts or be ready to face the law.
