Governor of Oyetol lifts curfew in Osun state
The Osun state government has high levels of compliance with the previously announced 24-hour curfew to prevent violations of law and order.
We thank the residents and residents of Osun for their understanding and cooperation in the last 48 hours of curfew.
We also thank our young people for showing a high sense of maturity in conducting their protest.
After reviewing the situation over the past 48 hours and following the opening of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Police Brutality, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is lifting the 24-hour curfew in effect from today, Friday, October 23, 2020, until further notice.
The suspension is intended to allow members of the public to turn to the expert group to present their observations and carry out their legal actions.
However, the government will not hesitate to restore curfews if the need arises.
The government remains committed to the cause of our youth and #EndSARS protesters and will take all necessary steps to ensure that their demands are met.
Given the government’s commitment and determination to meet the demands of the protesters, we call on the youth protestors to suspend their protest and engage the government in dialogue.
All citizens and residents are instructed to remain peaceful and law abiding, as every effort must be made to protect them and their property.
May God continue to bless and support Osun State.
Prince Will Oyebamiji
SSG, Osun State.
