Governor of Ugwuani Provides New Support to AIG, Zone 13
Enugu State Governor Ifeani Ugwuani has assured the new Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 13, Dunukofia, Anambra State, AIG, Mohammed Hafiz, of continued support for his administration so that the zone can operate more efficiently.
Speaking at the ceremony of presenting the new AIG at the Enugu Government Palace, Governor of Ugwuani stressed that his administration remains committed to security and will provide the Site-13 police chief with the necessary support to succeed in his post.
The governor, who formally greeted AIG and her entourage, added that his administration is keen to maintain Enugu’s security rating as one of the most peaceful and secure states in the country.
Earlier in his AIG keynote, Hafiz expressed gratitude to Governor Ugwuani and his Anambra counterpart Chief Willie Obiano for their commitment and support, saying “This area is most blessed because of you (Ugwuani) and your colleague in New York State. Anambra “.
He explained that Site 13 was recently established last July to take administrative and operational control of Enugu State and the Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
The police chief added that he has been made the second AIG in charge of Zone 13 following the recent promotion of AIG pioneer Danmallam Mohammed to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).
The new AIG, which endorsed the unique practice of the community policing model in Enugu State in particular and in Nigeria in general, praised Governor of Ugwuani’s support for the new Police Inspector General (PGI) initiative, Mohammed Adam Abubakar, aimed at deepening public attitudes, trust, confidence and mutual respect between the police and people in the fight against crime and crime.
The Governor of Ugwuani recently appointed 272 special agents from 17 local government districts, recently recruited and trained at the Oji River Police College, to work with the local state police.
Thanking the governor for his hospitality and commitment, AIG Hafiz assured him that the young zone and the two commands under his jurisdiction will continue to work in synergy with the Enugu and Anambra state governments to effectively deploy the community police. to secure crime in the area.
