A PDP spokesman for Ogubundu Nwadike state in a statement on Monday said the clash between supporters of Hammer and Uzodinma on Sunday at the Royal Spring Estate, Owerri, was “disgusting.”
The statement said that the actions of Uzodynma and Okoroch caused tension and fear in the state.
The statement read: “The Imo State People’s Democratic Party strongly condemns the terrible, brutal and bloody shootout that recently took place in the state between supporters of Senator Rochas Okoroch and supporters of Governor Hope Uzodimm, where they were involved in the bizarre indiscriminate shooting of the state seal of the Royal Spring Hotel Palm Estate, in the Akachi area of Owerri, the state capital.
“It is very disgusting that the current government of the Union of Right Forces in the state has turned IMO into a zone of terror and a theater of wars and conflicts. In recent years, the Imolites have had the most tragic and heartbreaking experience of the recent military incursions into the local government areas of Orlu and Orsu, which caused insecurity and other forms of horrific attacks that disrupted peace and order, and resulted in loss of life and property.
“The recent violence perpetrated by supporters of Senator Rochas Okoroch and Governor Hope Uzodimm has raised tensions and apprehension in the state, thereby altering an atmosphere of rich peace and tranquility.
“It is indeed quite contemptible that under the current administration, the Imo state, which was the center and pillar of peace and public order, has become a jungle of terror, where hooliganism, fraud, crime and abuse of the dignity of the human world. peace and social order in the state, the imoliths now live in fear and apprehension, and they can no longer sleep with their eyes closed.
