How criminals searched my house, stole food, certificates, passport – Lagos legislator reveals
Sanai (SOB) Agunbiad, the majority leader in the Lagos State Assembly, reported that his home had been taken over and plundered by thugs.
The politician said that the thugs who invaded his home in Ikoroda on Friday, October 23, were sponsored to kill him, The Nation reported.
Agunbiad, representing Constituency 1 of Ikorodu, said he received information about the planned attack, but believes it is rumor.
The lawyer-turned-legislator said that when they arrived and could not find him, his certificates, his family’s travel passports, valuables and food were stolen.
Sharing his experience on his Twitter account @Sobagunbiade, Agunbiad said the attackers were not #EndSARS protesters.
The Nation recalls that, prior to the attack, social media reports circulated that palliative drugs for COVID-19 were piling up in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, owned by Team SOB, the legislator’s political group.
A similar report on Thursday led to the looting of the Lagos government warehouse in Mazamaz, where COVID-19 palliatives were stored.
Agunbiad explained his point in a series of tweets titled “Violent Attack on My Home: Thanks to Ikorod”.
He said: “Thank God, and the brutal attack on my home on Friday, October 23rd, and the massive destruction of everything in it, was not without casualties.
“I received intelligence reports of a plan to exterminate me soon enough, but I took them as unfounded rumors. In addition, I was not prepared for the presence of security personnel so as not to lose my life. I believed in God’s plan for my life.
“But to those who conceived and sponsored the bloodbath only for the sake of political revenge, I say ‘thank you.’ We know each other in Ikoroda, but God rules. God will reward each hand in the attack in an appropriate proportion.
“I am glad that I lived to see my birthday in 2020 on Sunday 25 October. The ill-wishers plan to cancel me before my birthday failed. Glory to God.
“It should be noted that in the midst of the covid 19 pandemic, I personally distributed palliatives to my constituents more than three (3) times at my own expense, and recently my team also shared palliatives with the very disadvantaged residents of Ikorodu. All of these and many more attempts to take care of my constituents are in the public domain because we have a way to ensure that beneficiaries are appointed openly.
“And for my birthday on October 25, 2020, I sent through my media team my intention to support the 50 widows that have already been nominated by various groups in a program called Widow’s Tick for Widows that I am distributing. as well as some vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals in three local councils in my constituency, some palliative materials were donated by the state and federal governments, and myself. These are materials stolen from my house yesterday, Alhamdullila.
“My service to Ikorod from my youth to the present day is already appreciated by posterity and remains unchanged. God knows I do not deserve treatment from the politically motivated perpetrators of this attack and their sponsors, but I seek comfort in God.
“It goes without saying that no one will attack the property of a madman, but showdowns of people are always vilified. However, Friday’s barbaric event is shocking, but like a happy dolphin even in the midst of giant waves and terrible storms, I am resilient, and my faith in God’s mercy and grace is very fat.
“Of course the robbers are not #Endsars protesters because the young people of Ikorodu participated in a very peaceful and well-coordinated protest. The perpetrators of the attack on my home are a group of intruders on a mission against my life. They stole my certificates and my family’s passports. They emptied my and my wife’s wardrobes and left with other valuables … pure robbery the same day! But we thank God.
“Nigerian politics is very profitable indeed! Ikorodu you did a good job for me, thank you.
“For all this, I thank God for saving lives. I thank God for his endless mercy and grace.
“The son of a bitch won’t fall, no matter how hard they try, because God is my armor. Whatever the situation, Ise Oluwa n teziswaju insha Allah! “
