Andy Uba has promised to accept the result of the recently concluded elections for the governorate of Anambra.
Uba wondered how, after winning over 200,000 votes in his party’s state-run primaries, he was unable to replicate that feat in the governor’s election.
The candidate of the Congress All Progressives in the newly concluded Anambra State Governorate elections then rejected the election result in a statement entitled “Senator Andy Uba rejects the outcome of the Anambra Governorate elections”, signed by the spokesman of his electoral organization , Jerry Ugokwe, Thursday. …
He described the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission “as a farce” that did not reflect the wishes and aspirations of the people of the state.
The campaign organization said: “Our popular candidate, Senator Andy Uba is the victim of widespread election fraud and manipulation by the INEC in cohorts with the Willie Obiano regime and the security forces deployed to oversee the campaign. election of the Governorate of the State of Anambra.
The elections were characterized by widespread irregularities, intimidation and suppression of voters in order to pave the way for the APGA’s inglorious ‘victory’ in the polls.
“For example, in electoral units where the biometric voter accreditation system was not functioning properly, INEC conducted the elections manually. There have been numerous cases in which the votes announced by INEC exceeded the number of accredited voters in the electoral units.
“Another clear manifestation of collusion between the Obiano administration and the INEC was the publication of the results on the social media of the APGA even before the official announcement of the INEC. Yet, mysteriously, the votes announced by the APGA always corresponded correctly to the official data released by the INEC.
It is inconceivable that our candidate, who garnered over 200,000 votes in the APC primary elections, would be awarded just over 43,000 votes by the INEC.
“It is surprising that the APGA, which lost nearly 80% of its supporters by defection to the APC before the election, came out ‘victorious’. A deputy governor in office of the APGA, seven members of the House of Representatives, 10 members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, the board member of the APGA party, many members of SA, SSA, as well as a senator from the PDP in charged, they all defected to the APC very timely before the election, but the APGA emerged ‘victorious’. This is quite ridiculous ”.
The organization has promised to pursue its “stolen warrant” within the limits allowed by the country’s law.
