I have a little break in London – Bukhari
President Muhammadu Bukhari says he is currently taking a short break as he leaves the country for London, UK.
According to a statement Thursday by his senior special assistant for media and advertising, Garba Shehu, the president disclosed this in a letter he wrote to King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in accordance with a resolution on the recent split in the royal family.
The statement was titled: “President Bukhari Writes to King Abdullah of Jordan, Expresses Good Wishes and Solidarity.”
We will remind that earlier the presidential office issued a statement that Bukhari will undergo what he called a routine medical examination in London.
In a statement Thursday, Shehu was quoted by Bukhari as saying that he was very upset when he heard reports of an issue in the royal family, but he felt reassured when he learned that everything was resolved amicably.
The aide to the President quoted Bukhari’s letter as follows: “While in London during a short break, I was deeply concerned about what I read in international news outlets about attempts to destabilize the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
“Your exemplary leadership since accession to the throne is admired throughout the world.
“Relations between Nigeria and Jordan have been excellent and I thank you for the role you have played in this relationship.
“Your Majesty, I am very pleased that everything has been resolved, and I pray that the Hashemite Kingdom will continue to remain not only peaceful, but also an important beacon of hope for the region under the wise leadership of Your Majesty.”
